Poem: A Heart of Stone

Afraid the past will come to haunt her
And resurface once more
Full of love filled with

False promises
Lies and betrayals
Shattered hopes and dreams
She has no desire to let love in
For another broken heart
Is something she can no longer bear
So she spends each day in isolation
Left alone with a heart of stone
