Poem: I Am

I am the only tree standing in the yard
I am a knife stabbed through a person’s heart
I am a bee trying to find a flower to sit on
I am a kitten trying to run
I am an insect stepped on by a boy
I am a broken unwanted toy
I am a sick little puppy asking for help
I am a book with ripped up pages lying on the shelf

Poem: I Would Die for You

The skies are gray 

The sun in slumber 

I go to your page 
And I’m left to wonder 

Your last written word
An ache of the heart 
A melancholy verse 
Right from the start 

The last line stood out 
“I would die for you”
An emptiness surrounds 
Could these words be true

You bared your heart 
You shed all the pain
Your body was found 
An angel we gained 
 
Is there a connection  
Did you die for the one 
You could not be with 
But could not be without

Poem: Nameless

Buried underground you are nameless
No way of knowing where you are from a distance
Only standing beside you
Can I see exactly where you are
But how do I know the exact spot of your existence
When yours is like many others surrounding you
When will you finally get the headstone you deserve
So I can visit you without searching for you
Among a colony of those that have taken up residence down below
And panicking when you are nowhere to be found
