Poem: Fading Away

should’ve done all to make you stay
I shouldn’t have let you get away
Instead I just froze and stayed that way
And what we had had died that day

There’s nothing left for me to say
I cannot face another day
Without you here I cannot stay
My mere existence fading away

If I cannot function when I press play
Then what am I doing here anyway
An inner voice whispers to me today
It should’ve been me that died that day
