She is standing in the hallway
Shaking frozen to the floor
And her mouth will not open
What to do she is unsure
Yeah she knows she’s gotta do it
Yeah she knows her time has come
But she just cannot go through it
Until her fear’s overcome
She’s been working at this job for a while
And every day she finds no reason to smile
Deep inside she knows she has to go
But how that will happen she really don’t know
She is standing in the hallway
Shaking frozen to the floor
And her mouth will not open
What to do she is unsure
Yeah she knows she’s gotta do it
Yeah she knows her time has come
But she just cannot go through it
Until her fear’s overcome
Every time she tells herself this is it
The time has come and I’m ready to quit
I’ve had enough of these suffering days
The time has come for me to be on my way
She is standing in the hallway
Shaking frozen to the floor
And her mouth will not open
What to do she is unsure
Yeah she knows she’s gotta do it
Yeah she knows her time has come
But she just cannot go through it
Until her fear’s overcome
All she’s gotta do is tell them she quits
It should be easy but it tears her to bits
She almost does it but then stops in her tracks
And every time she’s an emotional wreck
She is standing in the hallway
Shaking frozen to the floor
And her mouth will not open
What to do she is unsure
Yeah she knows she’s gotta do it
Yeah she knows her time has come
But she just cannot go through it
Until her fear’s overcome
She wants to go without saying a word
That’s so much easier for her it’s absurd
They will not bite her and they won’t put her down
Yet she can’t bring herself to change things around
She is standing in the hallway
Shaking frozen to the floor
And her mouth will not open
What to do she is unsure
Yeah she knows she’s gotta do it
Yeah she knows her time has come
But she just cannot go through it
Until her fear’s overcome
Until her fear is overcome
She will be stuck here and in vain
She has to find someway somehow
To get the courage and to say
I won’t be working here no more
It’s time to leave this place behind
It’s time to walk through other doors
And make my life a better kind
When she’s standing in the hallway
Shaking frozen to the floor
Will her mouth ever open
What to do will she be sure
Yeah she knows she’s gotta do it
Yeah she knows her time has come
So will she ever go through it
Will her fear overcome
When her life has turned around
And we’ll find her some place else
That’s when we will know about
The scared girl who’s changed her ways
